Blacksburg Chinese School Heritage Language Programs

Program Dates: August 16, 2026 – May 23, 2027 (unless notified otherwise).
Registration Deadline: August 14, 2026.

Class Viability: Classes require ≥3 students. Low-enrollment classes will be canceled with full refunds.

Tuition: $540/year.
- Sibling discount: 10% off full tuition for each additional child.
Textbook: $60 (MaliPing Chinese, K-9)/$90 (10th Grade AP),
I-Chinese-Reader: $35/year (Oct 2026–Oct 2027).
School Supplies: $20/year.
Maliping Chinese Class – 10th Grade (AP Class): $720/year (2-hour class), taught by Ping Cheng.

Introductory Physics (Middle School): $750/year
AMC 10: $750/year
AP Statistics: $1,050/year
AP Calculus AB/BC: $1,050/year

BCS Membership: $30/year for one student; $40/year for two or more students in the same family.

Applicable to AMC Math Classes, Physics, and AP Classes:

AMC 8: Students enrolled in AMC 8 get complimentary registration for the January 2027 competition.
AMC 10: Students enrolled in AMC 10 get complimentary registration for one of AMC 10A/10B competition in November 2026.
All Other Registrations: $25/admin fee (e.g., non-BCS students, cross-registration, additional competition events).

TBD Classes: Online section for Maliping 5th will be scheduled by August 10, 2026.
Possible Online Option: A Maliping 1st grade online section may be added for a student (Alvin) pending confirmation with the teacher (Shuwen Zhao).
Hybrid Classes: AMC 8/10, Physics, and AP classes offer both in-person and online participation.
New Class: Maliping Chinese Class – 10th Grade (AP Class) is a new offering for 2026–2027, taught by Ping Cheng; format (in-person/online) to be determined.
Competition Dates: AMC 10: November 2026; AMC 8: January 2027.
Possible Rescheduling: Introductory Physics (Middle School) and AMC 10, both taught by Shengfeng Cheng, may need to reschedule during the academic year.
New AP Chemistry Class: Mr. Zhou (Hang Zhou) will join BCS as the AP Chemistry instructor for 2026–2027. The course will follow BCS’s curriculum and meets online only (Sun 1:30–3:00 PM, weekly). A minimum of 5 students are required to open the class (higher than the standard 3-student minimum for other classes).
