Students Registration Opens – 2021 Math Kangaroo Competition

Dear Parents and students,

I am thrilled to announce the opening of Student Registration for the 2021 Math Kangaroo Competition.

As last year, the regular participation fee will be $21 till Dec 15, and a late registration fee of $35 will be charged from Dec 16 – Dec 31.

This year students will be able to register in two different ways:

Method #1: Register by looking up our center and registering for in-the-classroom (brick-and-mortar) competition (same way as last 20+ years).

Method #2: Register without looking up any particular center but choosing a virtual center in the state of their residence.
Regarding Method #1 (brick-and-mortar center): This is the most preferred and encouraged way to participate as long as it is in line with the social distance recommendation of local or school officials. In case of an event of the competition room becoming unavailable (e.g. pandemic precautions) the students will be allowed to transfer to online testing, just like last spring, and you will just distribute MK competition material and the awards later.

The steps to register:

  1. Go to https://mathkangaroo.oasis-lms.com/Public/Catalog/Home.aspx.
  2. Log in with your login and password or establish your user account if you are new.
  3. Click on the tab By Invitation.
  4. Copy and paste the following code in the field Invitation Code: VABLACK0002233_21MK
  5. Do not share the code with anyone

Regarding Method #2 (virtual center): It will be administered as Math Kangaroo Test Online, can be taken at school or at home; internet access is necessary. It will be a similar format as MK2020 in spring and may extend over several days starting on or after March 18, 2021. MK T-shirts and gifts will be shipped directly to students’ address within a couple of months after the registration date.

  1. Go to https://mathkangaroo.oasis-lms.com/Public/Catalog/Home.aspx.
  2. Log in with your login and password or establish your user account if you are new.
  3. In the search box type virtual and choose the state of the residence.
  4. You are ready to register.
  5. When there is a question about MK Center association, please choose our school
  6. Math Kangaroo will email you the information about the exact competition timeline in the first week of March. It will be on or after March 18, 2021, and a few days will be assigned for each age group.

Important: After you receive the registration confirmation email from Math Kangaroo, review the email to make sure all information is accurate. If something needs correction, update the registration or email [email protected].

Math Kangaroo Competition takes place on the third Thursday of March.
