Dr. Xin Luo
Dr. Xin Luo is Professor of Immunology at Virginia Tech. Her research interests are autoimmunity, host-microbe interactions, neonatal immunity, and nutritional immunology. She is recognized as one of the pioneers of microbiome research in the autoimmunity field. She has been funded by the National Institute of Health and Department of Defense, and serves as a standing member of the NIH Mechanisms of Autoimmunity study section. She was an Editor of the journal Microbiome, and is currently an Editor of the immunology society journal ImmunoHorizons. Before joining the School Board, she had served as the 5th grade Beast Academy (math) teacher at the Blacksburg Chinese School.
